Mallorca. Part 2

Day trip to Soller.

So it's time to tell you other part of my Mallorca trip.

Mallorca is one of absolutely peaceful and quiet places in the world but it wasn't always like that.
There were times when local people were living on constant fear of devastating pirates.

Soller is small coastal village where every year, in the beginning of May, people celebrate very important victory in a big fight with pirates in 1561.
They call this «Es Firó» and it looks like a massive fun pirate fight play on village streets. Impressive show for everyone where anyone can take a part.
Unfortunately I haven't seen it but heard a lot about this day :)

To get to Soller we catched an old train which runs between Palma town centre and Soller since 1912.
It's very fun and breathtaking trip which I totally recommend:)
Old fashion train, open windows, refreshing air on very hot day and of course fantastic views :)

Town centre. Palca de sa Constitucio. Lots and lots of different cafeterias and restaurants.
And totally enjoyable view of Iglesia de Sant Bartomeu(free admission and stunning inside).

And of course tram which runs from train station to
Soller sea port since 1913 :)

Very lovely small town, amazing destination for a day trip :)
